Drop Down Form Field

I am creating a form in Word. I have inserted a drop down
list with several options to select from. The first
option always appears by default in the field. I would
like to have some default text in the field instead which
says something like "Please click here and select from the
list". How do I do this?

Unlike the text form field, there is not an option for default display text,
but you could add it as the first list item.
