drop-down form field

I'm using a drop-down form field which contains an entry
with 1 character and another one with 20 characters. What
should I do if I don't want to "push" what is behind my
drop-down when I choose the entry with 20 characters? (I
have enough space for the 20 characters entry)

PS:I use word2000 under XP
