Drop down list auto complete

Hello,
I've created a spreadsheet with drop-down lists and was wondering why I have to pull down the list for each cell instead of starting to type one of the choices. Is there a way to set preferences so this can be done? Thanks!

It appears that you are talking about data validation, which does not
support autocomplete.
