Drop-Down List Search Problem

Searches done in Contacts or Business Contacts ignores field entries that are
a result of a drop-down list. I think drop-down lists are an important
feature to help eliminate typing errors and inconsistencies (Outlook should
have/allow more of them). But if Search ignores any field entry created by a
drop-down list, why even allow drop-down lists? What gives?
