drop-down list

Hi, does anyone here know how I can set up a drop down
list in Excel 1997 so that it automatically repeats down
the column?

Select the entire range, then create the dropdown list using Data / Validation / List......

The problem is that I have an older version of Excel that
doesn't give me the Validation option when I press data.
Is there any other way to go about doing that?

Hi

When you never used this feature before, it's hidden. Activate Data
from menu. When there is a double-arrow at bottom of dropdown, it
activated hidden features.

When this is not the case, then probably its removed somehow. You can
return it from View.Toolbars.Customize.Commands
