Drop Down Menu on MAC Office 2001 not working

I am using MAC G5 with Mac Office 2001. The word drop down menu is not
working properly, after reinstalling the software with the latest
updates from the microsoft office website.

Any suggestions ?

I suggest removing the Word Settings (9) file. This should resolve this
