Drop-down Menu

I am attempting to create a form in Excel. I have
included several drop down menus, however, when I utilize
the menu, the number of the item on list is entered in the
designated cell instead of the actual text. I have tapped
out all options and resources. Please help! -Lisa

Lisa,

I suspect you are using the drop down list from the forms toolbar.

You have a couple of options:
#1 Drop down from the control toolbox OR
#2 In cell drop down using data validation.

#1 View the control toolbox and insert a drop down
Right click and view properties
In the ListFillRange property type (not select) your fill range
In the LinkedCell property type (not select) your destination cell

#2 Select a cell you wish to have the drop down in
Choose "Data" -> "Validation"
Under the settings tab, change the "Allow" criteria to "List"
Put your cursor in the "source" field and select your list.
OR type in your list like (AAA, BBB, CCC) without brackets

Both will display the selected item and not the number.
