Drop-down menus

Hi

I'm running Microsoft Office/Word 2001 on an Apple Mac using OS 9.2.2

A few weeks ago, when working in Word documents, I mysteriously lost
most of my drop-down menu function using the labels at the top of the
page. Out of the Apple symbol, File, View, Edit, Insert, Format, Font,
Tools, Table, Window, Work and Help, I now only have the drop-down
facility on the Apple symbol, Font and Help.

Can anybody please suggest how I can restore the drop-down function to
all of these headings?
