Drop Down Triangles for Folders

The drop down triangles for the folders are all missing. How do I bring these back? I have reinstalled the Microsoft Office software for 2001 and 2004 but the triangles for the folders do not return. Thank you.

Are you using two versions of Office? Have you tested in a new User? Have
you tested in a new Identity?

Did this issue get resolved?
I have the exact same problem after doing a Target mode migration. The old
system still works correctly but the transferred one doesn't.
I have discovered that if you click where the triangles should be, they
still work, but it's not very easy.
I have tried trashing various prefs etc and have re-copied the application
and identities and tried back-up copies
It is the same in all identities
