Drop List Indicator

I'm creating a task list for my staff. I can create the drop lists but I want the drop list indicator to appear without having to click on the cell. That way, they'll know which fields can be sorted without having to click on the individual cell. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can use a combobox from the control toolbox (view>toolbars>control
toolbox) and drag it to the sheet,
it is a bit different but with some tweaking it can be used in a similar way
as validation. Once it is on the sheet,
right click and select properties there you can link to a cell range, select
linked cell etc..
Otherwise try to format the cells with validation differently, maybe a light
colour and a border
