Drop Shadows Not Displaying in 10.4 (tiger)

PowerPoint 11.2 Mac OSX 10.4.4

Presentations created on 10.3.9 with a gradient background and drop
shadows display fine under 10.3.9. When opened under 10.4.4 the drop
shadows become chuncky and pixilated.

Is this a known issue? is there a fix?
