Dropboxes and variable values

I have set up a conditional dropbox, whose values are
dependant on a previous dropbox value by a "Case Select"
routine. For instance, if DropBox1 has "Monthly" as its
value, then Dropbox2 under it has a list created with "1st
of the month, 1st week, 2nd week, Mid-Month, 3rd week, 4th
week, End of the Month" to be used a selectable values.
The second dropbox is tied to a User-Defined
field "strDeliverySchedule".

Here's the issue: It won't save the values selected. It
will let me select them, but it won't display them when
the item is reopened. Under "Property to use:" for the
dropbox, I've tried "Text", "SelText" and "Value", with
various results, none of which accomplished saving the
information within the field.
