Dropdown box / Access Query

(First post didn't seem to appear, so here it is again)

In a bit of a dilemma....

I've created a few forms for inputting data into a access database
using infopath as the front end. Easy enough job, and completed it in a
few hours. I was then given the task of adding templates to this form.
We use this form for creating lingerie garments, so it contains
differing tables for trims, fabrics etc.

We also use proceedures known as 'blocks'. Blocks are effectively a
template for certain fields on the form to cut down on manual input,
and to lock certain values. I need to be able to use a dropdown box to
populate all the needed fields on the form, using data from the DB. I
could create rules within infopath, but its so tedious and time
consuming its not practical. (500+ blocks) I've setup a seperate table
for the blocks, but I need to tell infopath that when the dropdown is
displaying the first field (The reference number), to automatically
fill in the other values.

I need to setup a routine that is a automated as possible.

Anyone had any experience with this? If I can get it done, I get a
business trip to Hong Kong in a fortnight for week!

Thank you

Regards

Adam

Considering such high stakes, it's impossible to decline your request for
help :).

I would like to understand better what "blocks" are; are they data
validation rules set up using XML Schemas(XSD)? Are they just lists of
allowed values for particular fields? As soon as you provide answers to
these questions, i will be able to suggest a solution.

Thanks,
Alex @ Microsoft
