Dropdown Box

Hi,

I am trying to create a survey in excel. There are some questions that
I would like to have answered either: Good, Satisfactory, Poor, etc. in
a dropdown list. But I would like it to be known that there is a
dropdown selection in those cells. I would ideally like to have the
dropdown box visible all the time - but if that is not possible, any
suggestions how I could utilize another tool/option?

Presently, I have used Data Validation, List option, and get a dropdown
box with the choices...but I can only see the dropdown boxes when I
click on the cell.

I am not restricted to only using Excel - if word would be better,
please let me know.

Any suggestions would be great!!

Thanks :)

You can use a combobox from either the forms toolbar or the control toolbox
toolbar,
You would need to have an input range on the sheet somewhere (you create a
list somewhere
off view where you put the choices). What are you doing with the answer
from the dropdown?

adjp102,

I don't think we know enough about your survey to make on-target
suggestions. If one dropdown is to be used to enter a selection into any
cell in a column (or even into more than one column), then you can put a
dropdown from the Control Toolbox somewhere on the worksheet, and it will
require some macro code to put the selection into the active cell. Post
back if that's the general idea you want.

Maybe you could shade the cells a different color (or even put a message in an
adjacent cell.) (even put a border with a different color around each of the
cells??)

Personally, I'd have thought Access would be the way to go if you are
planning on storing responses from multiple respondants and you want to
stick with MS software.
