DSum Function Question

I am trying to use the DSum function in Excel 2000. I can get the
formula to work by using the following:

=DSUM(Data Table as Range, Column to Sum as integer, Criteria as
Range)

What I am trying to find out is whether or not you can type the
criteria into the formula as text rather than pointing the formula to a
range e.g.:

=DSUM(Data Table as Range, Column to Sum as integer, "Col1">5)

Does anyone know if this is possible? and if so how can I do it?

Many thanks

Chris

You can't. I've tried an add-in from Spinnaker Software that is supposed to implement D
functions like those in Lotus, but it wasn't reliable -- worked fine on a new workbook, but not
on an old one. I reported the problem to them, don't know if they've fixed it. The price is
about $90. http://www.spinnakeradd-ins.com/
