Ok..I have a rather simple question to ask about Calendar sharing in Outlook.
I'm not terribly familiar with Outlook in and MS Exchange environment, but
here's my question:
I recently installed an MS Exchange server at my company, and everyone's
Outlook Client is configured to use it.
We are a company that provides on-site industrial maintenance to clients.
We currently use a shared ACT! database to schedule tech appointments. All
the techs have access to the same ACT! calendar. The company secretary
enters appointments into the shared Calendar. At the start of each workday,
the techs access the shared ACT! calendar and see what has been scheduled for
themselves and the other techs for that day.
Now that we have moved everyone to Outlook with Exchange, is there a way to
do the same thing as we have been doing in ACT? We would like to have a
shared Outlook Calendar that all the techs can access, where they can see all
the other appointments of other techs, and where the company secretary can
enter and/or change appointments that will show-up in the shared Calendar,
and the techs can review it and see what is scheduled for themselves or other
techs on that day.
This "shared" Calendar would be in addition to the "built-in" Outlook
calendar that is installed with Outlook. They would still use this calendar
for their "private" stuff.
Is something like this possible? I certainly hope it is, because I sold
them on the idea of moving everyone's Outlook to run-off of an Exchange
server; and I told them I thought it was possible to do this.
Many thanks in advance for any answers!
