Dumb Question

I just started using Excel on a MAC and the active cell is a shade of
light blue that makes it very hard to find. Is there a way to change
this color so that it is easier to fing which cell I am working in?

The cell outline color is determined by the OSX highlight color. To
change it, go to the Appearance Pane in the System Preferences. The
color is set when Excel starts, so you must quit and restart after
making the change.

By the way, this question comes up every couple of months in this
newsgroup. A search "active cell color" reveals 3 dozen instances.
Members of the group don't seem to mind repeating themselves but if
need a quick answer to a future question, it's sometimes faster to
search the archives.

Nothing standard within Excel, and if you change the OS settings it applies
globally to selection color in all programs. If you're determined to do
"something" you can use the macro from Chip Pearson here:

Otherwise you might keep in mind that the active cell's reference is always
indicated in the Name Box at the left end of the Formula Bar as well as the
color change to the Column & Row Headings - either of which will at least
point you in the right direction as to where to look
