I have two pc's: a laptop that I travel with and a desktop that stays put.
Both have Outlook 2003 (11.8010.6568) SP2 (Microsoft Office Professional
Edition 2003). Both machines have all the available Outlook updates
installed. The laptop is running XP Pro SP2, the desktop XP Pro SP1. Other
than SP1 on the desktop, both machines are up-to-date as far as XP is
concerned. Both are set up to receive pop3 mail and both are set up to leave
a copy of messages on the server until they are finally deleted from "Deleted
Items". With Outlook open, the desktop retrieves the same email messages
over and over again. I can leave Outlook open on the laptop all day long and
it never duplicates any messages. I do not have any rules enabled.
Disabling virus checking does not make any difference either. I do not want
to uncheck "Leave a copy of messages on the server" on the desktop. How can
I stop the desktop from constantly retrieving the same messages?
