Duplicate Emails Downloading Outlook 2003

I am getting duplicate emails downloaded.
I've seen lots of posts about this, but no definitive answer.

It is Outlook 2003.

I am downloading from Yahoo Mail.

I want copies of my mail to remain on the server so I have that checked.

What I think is happening, is if the connection somehow gets interuppted,
Outlook starts all over again downloading my email.

I have 10,000 emails on my Yahoo mail, and this is a first-time sync.

Is there a plug-in to make Outlook a little smarter so it dosen't do this,
but starts where it let off?

No matter how "smart" Outlook is, if you're getting connection
interruptions, problems will occur. Try 1) disabling any scanning of
incoming mail by an antivirus program. 2) Lengthening the server timeout
value on the Advanced tab of your account properties pages. 3) Increasing
the send/receive interval on the Send/Receive Groups dialogue page. 4)
Moving some of your 10,000 messages to a different folder on the server so
that Outlook doesn't have so many to deal with at one time. Once a portion
of them have been downloaded, move additional messages back into the
original folder so Outlook can download them.

Windows XP prof SP2 Outlook 2003 SP2

I did all you mentioned. I extended the time out time to the max, I moved
most of my emails to just a thousand left. And lengthened the send recieve
rate.

Other ideas?

Well, there are still cases in Outlook where duplicates will occur if copies
are left on the server, so perhaps you're case is one of them. The solution
then would be to disable leaving copies on the server, let everything
download one, and then reenable server copies. From then on Outlook should
behave, but all the originals would be gone from the server. Copying them
to another server folder before allowing htem to download would be one way
of preserving them on the server.
