Duplicate emails in outlook

I am running outlook 2000 in windows 2000

Recently I started receiving duplicate copies of emails. Sometimes as many as 40-50. They trickle in during the day. Not every message duplicates. The problem is that the duplicate traffic keeps new email from getting through. The option to leave a copy on the server is NOT checked. My DSL provider is Qwest, but I go through my company domain and server

Any ideas?

Is your company running MS Exchange or a POP3 server?

I have seen a similar situation before when downloading from POP3. If the
connection to the server wasn't ended properly the server didn't delete the
message so it was there next time. You should ask your company IT to check
their mail server logs.
