duplicate emails sent after delivery failure

I sent a large file (with 3 photos)to myself and bcc'd a large number of
email addresses. I received numerous 'delivery failure' notice emails
stating that the file was too large for the recipient. I'm also continuing
to receive the same email with attachments. (The people that I sent this to
are also getting bombarded with multiple emails from me every few minutes).
I'm assuming that outlook is trying to resend this message b/c of the
delivery failure. Once I realized these duplicated emails I went to the
Outbox and deleted the message. I also went to the account server settings
and increased the time-out value to 10 minutes. I also lengthened the
send/receive interval to 10 minutes. Can you tell me the reason for all of
these duplicate emails and if what I did will fix the problem? If not then
how can I????

What part of "file was too large for the recipient" were you incapable
of understanding? Stop sending such huge e-mails.

If the recipients tht can accept large messages are getting repeated copies,
then your Outlook is sending repeated copies. This is usually due to
scanning outgoing messages with an antivirus program (something that's NEVER
needed) or a server timeout value that's too low. Disable scanning mail in
your AV program, lengthen the server timeout valie on the Advanced tab of
your account properties, and make sure your send/receive interval is no less
than ten minutes.

To stop the message, click File and check Work Offline. Stop and restart
Outlook, then delete the message from Outbox. Click File and uncheck Work
Offline.
