keep getting duplicate emails sent to my Entourage 2004 account even though I've already read them once. I haven't changed any settings. Earthlink tells me they don't know if it's their problem or Microsoft's.

I can get rid of them but it's a pain and I want to stop it from happening. I don't know what is the cause.

To get rid of duplicates use one of the scripts to remove duplicates.

This can happen if you have run rebuild database. It could be a setting
where you forward your emails to another account, but it could be the
Earthlink server. We often hear complaints about Earthlink service.

Thanks Diane. Maybe Earthlink will find problem. By and large i like their
service. As I say, it's easy to get rid of them- just do a find with status
'unread' and erase, but it's a pain to keep having to do it.

Absolutely!

If you select "Allow online access" do you see the multiple messages? This
might give you a clue, but it still won't eliminate the server sending out
multiples.

Curious: Could it happen with messages forwarded _from_ another account
(e.g., Gmail) to an Entourage client? I've enabled POP in Gmail and
configured Entourage to download my Gmail messages. I almost always receive
duplicate messages: one with an indication that a copy remains on the server
(which was how I configured the forwarding feature), one without such an
indication.
