Can I have two references pointing to the same footnote or endnote in Word
2000?

Yes. Instead of inserting an actual footnote, insert a cross-reference
(formatted) to the footnote number.

That takes the reader to the previous occurance of the footnote in the text.

Evidently you're creating a hyperlink. I was dealing with the question of
how to use the same footnote number twice (for a printed document).

In the Insert Cross Reference dialog, uncheck 'Insert as hyperlink' before
clicking Insert.
