duplicate footnotes

I have a large number of documents written in word 2003 and when openning
them in word 2007 the footnotes appear twice at the bottom of the document in
print layout view. In the draft view they only appear once as originally
intended. This does not happen in all the documents but in a good share of
them. It would seem more likely in longer documents that longer or more
footnotes. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem?

Do they actually print double or is it only on screen? Have you tried a
different View?

Make sure that you have the latest printer and graphics drivers and then
delta the printer and reinstall it and then update the graphics driver.

As I mentioned it appears on the screen in print layout and not in draft
view. However, it does also print as double. I have the lasted driver for the
graphics card and several printers (and it happens on all of them). In
addition, despite the fact that I am running Office 2007 on a Vista operating
system, the same thing happened on several XP computers running Office 2007.

Check to see if it is the same when SP1 has been applied to Office 2007. If
so, I suggest that you log this as a bug with Microsoft then.
