Duplicate messages with two profiles

I use two profiles - one for work and one for home. POP server name is the
same in both, but as they use different ISP's the SMTP server name is
different. I also use a mobile phone to receive emails and in order to ensure
I receive all emails on the phone, I have configured both profiles to leave a
copy of the message on the server. The shortest duration for leaving messages
on the server is one day.

Whenever I switch profiles, I get duplicate messages in the inbox - all the
messages left on the server from the previously used profile come in again.

I can't see any way around using different profiles in my different
locations. Nor do I see any way around leaving a copy on the server to ensure
I get everything on the phone. So I can't find any way to ensure I get all my
emails but not get duplicates every time I move from one location to another.

I have looked at a couple of the "Duplicate Remover" add-ins, but they seem
to require a manual process - they don't prevent the dupes from coming into
the inbox.

Does anyone else have this problem and is there any solution?
