Duplicate reources on plan

Dear Project Server Experts,

I am having difficulty with a plan I was given by a PM to publish. The plan
has tasks on it of which many have already started and the local resources
allocated have actuals against them. To further compound this there are
duplicate resources but either spelt differently or using initials (all in
all not too clever) I would therefore like to replace the local resource with
a resource of the same name from the resource pool. However, I dont know the
best way to do this. Can anyone out there please suggest the next best move?

Your best bet is to clean this up in the current plan before you consider
bringing it into Project Server. Once you've got it in shape, use the Import
Wizard.
