duplicate tasks for summary in Gannt chart

In a standard case of a 3 tier task outline, I have a
series of design, procurement, fabrication and testing
tasks as given at the bottom of this description. With
the arrangement below and 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, etc. as
linked tasks, the Gannt chart gives a nice sequential flow.
I would also like to have a simulataneous view that
groups, for example, just the PO tasks, so that I can see
their timing in isolation. one way to do this would be to
separately group these tasks and link them to the others,
but then there are long vertical lines on the Gannt chart
that make it confusing. Is there some method to have what
are essentially "ghosts" of the tasks placed in sequence
in the outline that retain their linked activity but can
be placed is a categorically separated format, if
possible, in the same view of the Gannt chart? For
example, in the outline below, I could have a summary task
of "procurement" and below it would be the duplication of
tasks 1.1.3, 1.2.3, ... 2.1.2, 2.2.2?

1. Develop prototypes
1.1 Components A Design
1.1.1 Develop detailed design A
1.1.2 Develop QA prodecures for A
1.1.3 PO for prototype A
1.1.4 Fabricate A
1.2 Components B Design
1.2.1 Develop detailed design B
1.2.2 Develop QA prodecures for B
...
...
2. Evaluate prototypes
2.1 Weld Test Comp A
2.1.1 Develop weld test plan A
2.1.2 PO for testing A
2.1.3 Test A
2.1.4 Weld quality evaluation/report
2.2 Weld Test Comp B
2.2.1 Develop weld test plan B
2.2.2 PO for testing B
...
....

Hi,

This kind of alternative view can be obtained by Grouping (P2000 and +). See
the help on grouping.
Where you astonish me is where you start talking about adding links for
viewing reasons.
Links exist or they don't. A task is linked to another one if it uses the
output produced by the other task, independently of where they stand in any
breakdown structure, isn't it?
