Duplicate tasks

I recently renstalled Outlook 2007. When I enter a new Task, it
appears twice. If I delete the extra task, both disappear.

How can I fix this?

I have the same issue, just started today. It shows up in the to-do bar

Should have dug a little more. Sorry about that
All I had to do was
Close Outlook completely
go to start,
run,
and type Outlook /resettodobar
and viola it fixed it.

Start Outlook once with the /resettodobar command switch.

That removed the duplicate entry problem, but now the todo bar keeps
"loading..." the other features still work, though.

In that case, I'd start with a new mail profile.

I have the same problem as described above so there must be something
going on - is Microsoft looking into this so we don't have to work
around the problem?

Who knows? Clearly it's not a problem for everyone, so I'd be surprised if
they were. Did you try a new mail profile or the /resettodobar as I
suggested?
