Duplicate Users

Patrick J Holt

Hi,

When I originally sync a user from AD and then change the authentification
to project server user only, when I come to sync the AD group again eg (Team
Members), a duplicate user is created via windows authentification. I need to
be able to have a mix of authentification access without creating resource
conflicts.

Hope you can help,
Thanks,
Patrick

Patrick:

The purpose of the AD Synch routine is to synchronize *Windows* users with
Project Server. The system is behaving exactly as designed. You should not
include users from Active Directory who will use Project Server
authentication in your synch-to group.

Hi Gary,

My apologies...it would help if I read your message in the first place!
Have checked out your site and find it extremely resourceful....excellent.

Regarding my initial issue, I spent two days seeking the advice from others
who all seem perplexed that this could not be done and assumed it was a bug
within project server!. Your advice is greatly appreciated as it focuses on
common sense and logic not people trying to be smart.

Thanks again,
PJH
