Duplicated fields after importing to PS2007

Hi all,

In PS2003, I have an Enterprise Project Custom Text field called "Business
Area".

In migration process to PS2007 we decided to migrate all objects manually
(Global and Projects)

Then I created a custom field in PS2007 called "Business Area" (like in
PS2003).

I save the PS2003 project locally and import to PS2007.

When I go to Project Summary Tasks, I see the field duplicated. And it is
duplicated in Organizer too. And when I try to remove one of them, nothing
happen.

Some help will be very apreciated.

This is a known and reported bug with Project Server 2007. I do not know of
any way to cleanse the project of the unwanted 2003 custom enterprise
Project fields except to save the project as an XLS (Excel workbook) file
and then reopen it as an MPP file. The only trouble with this approach is
that you lose the timephased Actual Work if the project is in progress.
Otherwise, you'll have to wait for SP1 and hope for a fix. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,

Thanks for your help.

I tried saving as "Project 98" and it worked like "XLS" file, but I was
scared about loosing more information than saving as "XLS" files. "Project
98" projects has a very diferent structure, hasn't it ?
The migration utility looses the timephased as "XLS" file. So, I think "XLS"
file is, how can I say, "the best way" to solve this issue.

Thanks again.
