Duplicates, Also

I am getting duplicates of emails into my inbox; as I subsequently go
to get mail, I am beginning to get duplicates of the duplicates, ie,
now I have four and sometimes six duplicate emails for many, many of
my incoming emails.

I have reinstalled Office 2008, have downloaded and installed the
updates through Oct. 14, 2008 (latest update). At first after
installing, things looked good.

Now creeping duplicates are beginning again.

So I would like to know how to stop the duplicates in the first place,
and then failing that, how to easily delete duplicates.

Failing that, as much as I love Entourage, I will leave this program.
It gives way, way too much grief over time, no matter how great it is,
it took me one full day to get the software reinstalled and to get the
update to install. I kept getting error messages, and finally found a
workaround on a chat room where I entered into the actual code for the
download, changed the code, saved it and was finally able to install
the update. It had to do with "cannot install update with this version
of Office" message.

MS clearly could care less if Mac users are happy with Entourage, so I
am off to iWorks if I continue to get no support and help. Enough is
enough.

get the version number, Entourage crashes, just tried three times, it
crashed each time

Some help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to run my business
with Entourage and cannot afford to have unrealiable email.

This is usually server error. Rebuliding your Identity can cause this
behavior also.

Re-installing never fixes problems like this.

To get rid of duplicates use one of the scripts to remove duplicates.

That's an assumption that is not true. I understand your frustration, but I
can guarantee you the MacBU is working hard to solve these problems.

Does this happen in a new User? If yes, then we need to address your OS
install and your Office install.

Step One in troubleshooting: Determine where the problem is located.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.

If you are still having problems, we need more info:

1) What type of account? (POP, IMAP, Exchange)
2) What version of the OS?
3) What size if your hard drive? How much free space? How much RAM?
4) Have you applied the latest Apple combo updater?
