Duplicates in BCM 2007 and BCM for Pocket PC 2.0

I'm not sure what is generating the problem but every couple of months I have
to delete thousands of duplicates from BCM. I might have 5 duplicates for
some names and up to 200 duplicates for other names. I synchronize to my
Pocket PC so I end up with over 8000 names on my mobile BCM. Nine out of 10
records has duplicates.
