Duplicating Access Databases

Yolanda Puatu

For some reason, some of our Access Databases are being duplicated on our
Server. I'm seeing a bunch of db1.mdb db2.mdb db3.mdb....and so on. We
must have at least 25 of them. What are they and how do I stop it from
creating them. We're using Access 2000 and 2002.

Thanks

A guess,
Do you have compact and repair on close set? If so, that process temporarily
creates a new database while doing the compacting. If it can't complete the
process for some reason, then the original file is kept and the temporary file
gets a name like db1.mdb, etc.

What are the settings on the server? Do they allow the original .mdb file to be deleted?
