Duplication of Headings

Whenever I click on a heading in my document and want to transfer the heading to my TOC page, sometimes the headings are duplicated on my TOC page, even though I only clicked and transferred the heading once. How can I eliminate this problem?

It sounds as if you're creating your TOC manually? Or perhaps you're adding
TC fields and also picking up the headings automatically? Read Word's Help
on "Create a table of contents" and then come back with more specific
questions, since clicking to "transfer" a heading to the TOC page does not
describe anything I would do in the creation of a TOC.
