Because that's the way the programmers wrote it. <grin> Seriously, the
available units for duration are minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months. In
defense of that approach, it would be extremely rare for a single task
duration to extend for years. I teach that in general if individual task
durations are exceeding 80 hours, you are probably grouping too many things
together and need to re-examine the WBS to break it down into more granular
detail.
