I have recently installed the latest version of project. All my days are
entered as whole days. The owning task displays the total days with a decimal
i.e.
Task Name Duration
Install m/c 50.4
Write requirements 10
Build m/c 10
Install 10
Commission 10
Accept 10

The duration of the summary task ("owning task") is not the sum of the
durations of the subtasks. It is the time between when the earliest subtask
starts and the latest finishing subtask ends. If there are overlaps between
subtasks or any delays between two of the linked in sequence there summary
duration might be wildly different from the sum of the subtasks.
