Can a project duration of 180 days be shown as 6 months when only using a 5
day work week?

For example - the client asks for 180 days expecting a 6 months completion,
however it is shown as more like 8 months taking out the weekends. We want
to keep the weekends as non-working when figuring available hours, but don't
want to have to figure out the actual working days in 6 months.

No, because duration is WORKING time only, by definition. 6 months is 26
weeks times 5 days per week or 130 duration days, not 180. What you are
describing is elapsed time, NOT duration. If you enter the task as 6emonth
or 180eday, that is entering it as elapsed time. When you look at the
calendar you'll find the duration is about 130 days and the 180 days will
elapse from start to finish.
