Hi Xandra
tasks have duration, resources have availability - so i'm not sure exactly
what you're after here ...
when entering task durations you can specify
1m which means 1 minute
1h which means 1 hour
1d which means 1 day
1w which means 1 week
1mon which means 1 month (ver 2000 and above)
(of course the 1 can be changed to any number)
a resource can be assigned to the task at 100% ... which means that their
work is the full duration of the task spread over the time that they can
work on the task. So if you have a 2 hour task, and you assign Bill at
100%, Bill will be assigned 2 hours of work. If, however, you assign Bill
at 50%, Bill will be assigned 1 hour of work (work = duration * units).
There are a lot of variations possible on this theme as well ...so it really
depends on what you're trying to achive.
i suggest you go and have a read of Mike Glen's project tutorials
(
www.tinyurl.com/2xbhc) to gain an understanding of the above and the other
things that you really need to know about project when starting out
Cheers
