DVD Insert Template?

Hi,

Anyone know if there is a blank DVD wallet template available anywhere,
that I can use with Word to make simple covers for the DVDs I am about
to record from my old VHS tapes?

I've used the Office Online search feature from within Word itself, but
I can't find any.

All I'm after is something simple. In fact, I only really need to type
in the DVD titles on the spine, so that they're visible when I have them
stored in a bookcase.

I'm happy to cut out the things with scissors to the correct size, so
long as there is some size outline guide for me to follow, that ends up
printed on the paper when they're finished.

(The things I want to make are the inserts that you put behind the clear
plastic that is on the _outside_ of the DVD wallets.)

You could easily make your own with the aid of a three cell table in
landscape mode and the aid of a ruler.
If you are serious about DVD covers then investigate Surething CD Labeller.

I would dispute your use of the word 'easily' though... I'm clueless!

No, I'm not that serious, and I only want plain basic titling along the
spines, which is why I'm looking at the template option instead of
getting special labelling paper. I have only about a dozen or so VHS
tapes that need to be re-recorded onto DVD anyway.

Measure the spine - clue: it will be around 7.5" by 0.5"
Create a table with cells fixed at that size.
Apply cell borders to the table.
Type what you require in the cells
Print
Cut out with scissors.

You didn't mention that the text in the center cell will need to be rotated.

Not necessarily. If the OP is only creating spines, they will work portrait
mode.

But the insert would have to be a one-column, three-row table as opposed to
the one-row, three-column table that we might have envisioned if we assumed
the front and back of the insert would have content (the "three cell table
in landscape mode" that you initially mentioned).

Not if the user was creating labels only for the spine - as indicated

Well, I was just saying that if the user used your original instructions for
a "three cell table in landscape mode," then the spine text would have to be
rotated in the center cell.
