dynamic connectors aren't connecting to objects - how can I fix ?

Dynamic connectors used to show a red box at the connection points, but don't
anymore. I can't find how to fix it.

What version of Visio are you working with and what type of objects are you
attempting to connect to? Are the objects Visio shapes or something else?
If you select the object does it have any connection points?

Go to the menu bar > Tools > Snap & Glue menu. Verify that under "Currently
active" the Glue option is checked. Also, verify that at least one option
under "Glue to" is checked, especially Connection points.
