Dynamic Connectors Change Position When Object Group is Rotated

Kam

I am new to Visio so I apologize for asking such a basic question. I am
using Visio 2007 and I have a number of objects linked with dynamic
connectors. I grouped all of the objects and connectors together into one
group. When I select the group then "Rotate Right", the entire group rotates
but most of my connectors move out of position. The connectors move all over
the diagram even though the objects they're glued to stay in their proper
places. When I "Undo" the rotation, everything pops back into its proper
place. How can I make everything stay in place when I move and rotate the
group? I'm sure this has to do with settings, but I've spent hours
researching and playing with the settings and have not made any progress.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi Kam,

It appears the connectors are intended to be "right-side" up. I don't
know of any settings that would fix this.

Here's a couple of ideas:

1. Change the routing/connecting style to center-center/straight lines
2. If you just need to rotate for printing purposes, copy your shapes,
then Edit > Paste Special as metafile. This will create a dumb object
that won't try to outsmart you when you rotate.
3. Edit the ShapeSheet of a connector to make a rotate-able connector.
This would involve Sin and Cos, and there's not guarantees that it would
work with Visio's automatic connecting/routing features.

Chris --

You're the best! Your guess that I only needed to rotate the group for
printing purposes was exactly right. I apologize for not including that in
my original message. I hadn't thought of copying the group and pasting it as
a metafile but that's all I needed to do to work around my problem.
