Dynamic glue and separating connectors

Hi,

I am using dynamic glue to connect a number of rectangles on my page.
All dynamic connectors are currently straight. There are a lot of
rectangles, so often there are multiple connectors going to the same
edge of the same shape. Therefore, there is a some overlap.

I have set the shape->layout->spacing to 2.5mm connector to connector,
yet this doesn't separate the connectors. How do I achieve this?
