Dynamic linksin Project Server do not work

Michail Parzich

I just tried to introduce a dynamic link between two projects contained in
the same database in order to use the duration of an activity of the one
project for another activity of a second project.
As long as both projects are opened, the dynamic link works. But, if the
source file is not opened and you open the second project, you'll get a
massage like "ms project cannot recover connection to link ...". As for two
projects locally saved as a file the described methode does not cause any
problems, I suppose that the described problem is concerned with the DDE or
OLE services.
Could anybody give some advice on the described problem? Thanks, Michail

Michail:

Cross project links require only that the person opening a project plan have
at least read only access to the linked plan. Without this, the system can't
resolve the links.

I've been playing around with the same thing and am getting the same results
as Michail. If the source file is open, everything's o.k. I'm doing this as
Aministrator, so I should have full blown privileges.
Do you know of another method in which I could link a particular cell (say %
complete) to another project on MS Project Server?
