dynamic outline code lookup tables

I have created an enterprise custom outline code that I would like users to
pick values from a list. However, rather than creating a static lookup table
and having to go back and modify the code manually, I would like to populate
this lookup table dynamically from another database that is being maintained.
Is this possible?

Good point, definitely.

However, I still think it would be a wickedly cool feature and something
that they overlooked. As it is, I'll probably setup a job that updates my
lookup list on a schedule from the other source.

I completely agree, especially for text field value lists. Given the special
nature of Outline codes, it's not a good idea without being able to declare
whether they feed the cube or not.
