Dynamic Template changes will not automatically update to attached

After editing in "non-editable" areas, such as logo change...
Dynamic Template changes will not automatically update to attached pages (no
auto message for updating occurs when saving the new edited DWT), and while
template is open, going to "format", DWT - update "all pages" and "attached
pages" is greyed out.
The only way I seem to be able to update attached pages is to open each
individual page - then format - DWT - update selected page

Unless you are editing in a disc based web, or on a server based web with
the latest FP2002 Server extensions and patches, or editing a WSS site,
this is normal behaviour.
Except as above, saving a DWT will only update those pages that are also
open.

Your response does work... if I have all pages "open" - new discovery...

If I understand correctly, they will not update because my host provider
does not have the "latest" 2002 extensions and patches?
I don't know what a WSS site is.
Maybe this is also why the old fashioned "borders" command will not work in
spite of the directions I have followed.

WSS = Windows Sharepoint Services

"borders" - if this refers to shared borders, then they are deprecated in
FP2003, and have to be turned on. This has not been affected by any
updates. IMO, shared borders should be replaced by DWTs, which are much
more flexible.

Tools->Page Options - Authoring Tab, tick the boxes "Author time web
components", and "Shared Borders"
