No you can (and probably should) stay in IIS (server based web) if you use any FP SE features you want to test locally,
- and if you update your DWT you can just publish back forth to a DBW
(DWT updates are not usually a frequent event)
- some users have also reported success in updating the DWT by just opening the IIS physical location (C:\Inetpub\wwwroot) as a DBW
to run the update only - but I would not recommend that
See View - Reports - Shared Content - DWT
| Thanks for your help. Even Microsoft FrontPage 2003 Inside Out does not
| seem to mention this.
|
| I have found that if I have all the attached pages open in FP and change the
| template I do get asked if they should all be updated.
|
| My project is small now so this is not totally inconvenient. I do wish the
| report would show DWT attachments so that I could keep tract of DWT usage.
|
| My current development environment is FP extended IIS on my machine. Should
| I consider a disk-based development? Publishing will be to FP extended
| server.
