Dynamically control projects displayed similar to PWA View

Hello!

I would like to dynamically control the projects displayed through MSP
2003/7 Pro when a user clicks File > Open in the same way views can be
controlled. Many of our views key on custom outline codes associated
with each project.

Background: I understand that the projects a given user has access to
when connected to PS2003/7 depend on the security categories that user
belongs to (through groups). I also understand that there are a
limited number of ways to "gather" projects:

1) All current and future projects in Project Server database

OR

2) Only the projects indicated:

a) projects specifically selected
b) The User is the Project Owner or the User is the Status
Manager on assignments within that Project
c) The User is on that project's Project Team
d) The Project Owner is a descendant of the User via RBS
e) A resource on the project's Project Team is a descendant of
the User via RBS
f) The Project Owner has the same RBS value as the User (PS2007
only).

Options b-f are selectable.

In PS2003, the OR relationship between 1) and 2) is clear. Selecting
1) grays out options b-e. In PS2007, options b-f remain selectable,
but the category appears to ignore them.

Is my understand of category permissions correct? Is it possible to
create an additional custom criteria that I can use to gather projects
based on outline codes?

Thank you in advance,
Crook
