E-mail a report does not work with Compuserve

Hi,

Some users of one of our applications would like to E-mail reports, so I
described how to use the Send to feature.
Unfortunately, at least one user has Compuserve as ISP, and apparently their
way of handling E-mail is not compatible with the Send To feature.
At the point where OE or most common E-mail programs would pop up with a
filled-in message this user gets a message that Windows can not sent a
message. I take it that Access is looking for a default E-mail handler
defined in IE?

I could add code to E-mail reports, but I would need to access a mail
server..

Any help would be appreciated.

Ragnar:

Yes, Access will generally look for the default mail program specified in
IE. However, that mail program should be minimally MAPI compliant. You
can set up Outlook Express to send and receive compuserve mail and OE
(consult the relevant CIS forums) will certainly work with Access'
SendObject command.

Thanks Steve,

I was not aware that OE could be used to handle Compuserve mail, the user
did not think so.
I will try to find out how to do that and we will jut tell our users that if
they want to E-mail reports they will need to set OE (Or probably any other
stand-alone maiil program) as their default mail program.
