I have a user who uses AT&T dial-up and Covad dial-up when
out of the office. I set up 2 accounts for the same
address. One pops in from covad.net's pop server and the
outgoing is set to att's smtp server (for use when dialed
through att). The other is set to pop in from covad's pop
server and the outgoing is set to covad's smtp server (for
use when dialed through covad). If I dial through covad
and check the mail, everything is fine. Then, I
disconnect, dial through at&t, check the mail, and
everything is fine. The problem is, if I then disconnect
from at&t, dial through covad, the email account settings
get changed to "localhost" in incoming pop server and the
original name (pop3.covad.net) is appended to the username
([email protected]/pop3.covad.net), which makes the username
setting wrong. This makes it unable to log on to the
incoming mail server. I change the settings back manually
and it works again until I connect through att and then
try to connect through covad. Then, the same changes are
made to the pop setting and username. Can someone explain
why this is happening and how I can control it? I need to
be able to set up the account to be read no matter which
service they are using to dial-up. Any suggestions will
be appreciated. Sorry for the length, but I needed to get
as much info as I could to try and locate the problem.
