e-mail address converted to include single quotes

Occasionally when sending a new email or replying to an
email the address is changed upon sending to include
single quotes, ie. (e-mail address removed) changes
to '(e-mail address removed)'. When this happens the
email is kicked back as undeliverable.

here is what the kickback looks like, I had to substitute
username into the actual email addresses.
